Some sites should be checked regularly before a walk - in particular
- Bureau of Meteorology ('bom') - weather information for Australia
- Rural Fire Service (RFS) - for fire information and total fire bans in summer
- National Parks - fires, floods and park closures page
- Information on SIX (Spatial Information Exchange) - this lands department map site is better than google earth.
First Aid and Other Information
- Australian Resuscitation Council - resuscitation guidelines, Life Support Flowcharts
- Clinical Toxinology Resources website - information on venomous animals and poisonous animals, plants and mushrooms together with relevant First Aid information
- Tips on safety, rescue and PLB's (personal locator beacons).
